Baptism & the Dead; Baptism for the Dead Recorded in Ancient Teachings of the Lord.
Why is Baptism and Baptism for the Dead Important to the Lord? Why is it important for everyone? It provides an opportunity to repent; to accept being baptised unto the Lord or not. The Lord gives us EVERY opportunity to come unto Him.

To be condemned to "eternal hell" because you didn't get your last rites is RIDICULOUS! The Lord's Truth's make sense. Man's interpretations do not!

Does an “Apostle” of the Lord sleep when he dies?  Apostle John the Revelator asked to “live”.  Three Nephite “Disciples” of the Lord asked also to “live”.  The Jewish Faithful believe in reincarnation.  But the Bible states that all “dead” sleep.  The dead are asleep until the Lord wakes them up.  The Lord instructed a prophet in the Americas and the Apostle Paul how it is done.   BAPTISM FOR THE DEAD.  Apostle Paul was visited by the Lord in a coma.  He learned the importance of “baptism” for all who have lived on this earth.  I Corinthians 15:29:  “Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all?  Why are they then baptized for the dead?”

Approximately 100 BC a “lost” son to a Prophet of the Lord in the Americas was caused to go into a coma for three days (133 years before Apostle Paul was put into a coma by Jesus).  After this experience, he repented and became the best member of the “church” his father created through “baptism”.  About 27 years later (73 BC) he had a “lost son”.  What did Alma the Younger tell Corianton about the “dead” being “asleep”:   Therefore, there is a time appointed unto men that they shall rise from the dead; and there is a space between the time of death and the resurrection.  And now, concerning the space of time, what becometh of the souls of men is the thing which I have inquired diligently of the Lord to know; and this is the thing of which I do know.  And when the time cometh when all shall rise, then shall they know that God knoweth all the times which are appointed unto man.  Now, concerning the state of the soul between death and the resurrection---Behold, it has been made known unto me by an angel, that the spirits of all men, as soon as they are departed from this mortal body, yea, the spirits of all men, whether they be good or evil, are taken home to that God who gave them life.  And they shall it come to pass, that the spirits of those who are righteous are received into a state of happiness, which is called paradise, a state of rest, a state of peace, where they shall rest from all their troubles and from all care, and sorrow…..there is a space between death and the resurrection of the body, and a state of the soul in happiness or in misry until the time which is appointed of God that the dead shall come forth, and be reunited, both soul and body, and be brought to stand before God, and be judged according to their works.  Yea, this bringeth about the restoration of those things of which has been spoken by the mouths of the prophets…” (Alma 40: 9-12, 21-22)

In the 1940s the Dead Sea Scrolls (Essenes) and the Nag Hammadi Scrolls (Gnostics) were discovered in the Middle East and these documents mention why Baptism in needed, even for the “dead”.  These documents also told the world that the true church of God would be practicing Baptism for the Dead in the latter days.  Why did the Mormon Church leaders cut a deal with the Vatican in 1960 about sharing the Bible and Book of Mormon stories with members of the Board of Directors of Zions First National Bank, wholly-owned by the Mormon Church (modern day money-changers)!  Before the translation of these ancient scrolls, people from all over the world mocked the Mormon Church for this practice, even all the groups who separated from them by 1852 when Brigham Young announced “polygamy” as of God.  Just last week a very powerful US Jewish organization peacefully settled with the Mormon Church in the “baptism for the dead” for the 6 million Jews exterminated by Hitler.

In the Associated Press (4/9/2005).  Jews, Mormons to meet over baptism for the dead.  The Mormon church has long collected names from government documents and other records worldwide for posthumous baptisms.  Church members stand in to be baptized in the names of the deceased non-Mormons, a ritual the church says is required for the dead to reach heaven.  The practice is primarily intended to give salvation to the ancestors of Mormons, but many others are included by a church that believes that individuals’ ability to choose a religion continue beyond the grave…  Why would the Jews be so concerned about this “practice” if it didn’t matter to them?

All other Book of Mormon believers don’t practice baptism for the dead.  They call it a myth, even today.

In September of 1842  Joseph Smith  received a revelation commanding that the living be baptized, by proxy, for the dead. This occurred by visitation of an angel to Joseph Smith in 1823 and in 1836, and are found in the teaching of Joseph Smith in Doctrine and Covenants 128:18.

The revelation declares, “And now, my dearly beloved brethren and sisters, let me assure you that these are principles in relation to the dead and the living that cannot be lightly passed over, as pertaining to our salvation.”

“For their salvation is necessary and essential to our salvation, as Paul says concerning the fathers - that they without us cannot be made perfect - neither can we without our dead be made perfect.”

It is the baptism for the dead. For we without them cannot be made perfect; neither can they without us be made perfect” (referring to 1 Cor.15 15 and 18).

Mormonism from the beginning of its revelation to the end has been in communication with the dead. The issue of salvation has something to do with the dead. Baptism for the dead is an essential aspect of the fullness of the gospel. It is so essential in fact that no living person can be saved without it. Doctrine and Covenants 20:37 one reads those to be baptized must humble themselves, having “truly repented” of all their sins before being baptized. Baptism is regarded as essential to salvation and those, as the Pharisees/Lawyers (Luke 7:30), who reject baptism are thereby “forfeiting their claim to salvation.”

According to the Salt Lake Tribune (8/17/91, p.A6) these are some of the following presidents have also been baptized Mormon .Dwight Eisenhower (US President) ,Patrick Henry (American Statesman) Abraham Lincoln (US President) Miguel Pro (Catholic Priest) Paul Revere (American patriot and silversmith) William Shakespeare (Playwright) Leo Tolstoy (Russian novelist).  Here are just a few other historical figures who Also received proxy baptisms in August of 1877: Napoleon Bonaparte (French Dictator), Christopher Columbus (Explorer, by proxy on August 22-24, 1877), Daniel O. Connell (First Catholic member of British Parliament), David Livingstone (Christian Missionary), Thomas Babington Macauley (English historian, essayist, and statesman), Lord Horatio Nelson (British naval admiral), George Peabody (American Philanthropist), Frederick II - A.K.A. “Frederick the Great” (King of Prussia) Daniel Webster (American Statesman) , John Wesley (Christian Evangelist/Pastor, by proxy on August 22-24, 1877) LDS ORDINANCE: Baptized: 10 Dec. 1993. London Temple. HITLER, Hielder (Mrs.) ... Marriage (civil) abt. 1929, Germany. SPOUSE: Adolf Hitler.  Will these individuals repent? Will they accept the opportunity of baptism? THAT is up to the Lord and each individual. However, we die with our same attitude of being teachable and our love of the Lord...

Since 1829 the Lord has called certain individuals to be “apostles” of the Lord.  Joseph Smith Jr, Oliver Cowdery and Martin Harris were first called.  In 1835 twelve others were called:  Thomas Marsh, David Patten, Brigham Young, Heber Kimball, Orson Hyde, William M’Lellin, Parley Pratt, Luke Johnson, William Smith, Orson Pratt, John Boynton and Lyman Johnson.  From 1835 to the death of Joseph Smith (June, 1844) seven others were called:  John Page, John Taylor, Wilford Woodruff, George Smith, Willard Richards, Lyman Wight and Amasas Lyman.  All believers in the Book of Mormon support these twenty-two individuals of being called “APOSTLES’ by the Lord.  Since this date the Mormon Church has had an additional 60 other “apostles” die.  The RLDS/Community of Christ have had several “die” since 1860.  The Church of ChristTemple Lot have had several die since they were incorporated in the 1860s, including those who broke away in 1929.  Are these “dead men” who accepted to be “Apostles of the Lord” asleep or are they very active doing the Lord’s will today?  How about the millions of baptized members of these various organizations which claimed their “rights” in being born-again who have died?  Are they in a paradise?  Are they ministering angels serving the Lord?  Baptism for the dead is no myth, made up by Joseph Smith, as claimed by the RLDS and Church of ChristTemple Lot believers.  In 1960 the Vatican was so convinced about the importance for “baptism for the dead”, that they entered into a secret agreement with corrupt leaders of the Mormon Church because of the discovery and translation of ancient records from the Middle East.

A “dead” person who was “baptized by proxy” will be awakened up by the Lord and asked if they believe in Jesus.  It is a simple answer:  Yea or nay. They go back “asleep” or they awaken and serve the Lord in the “spirit” based on their own choice.  What does the Bible say about the Dead being “asleep”?   And why dost thou not pardon my transgression, and take away mine iniquity?  For now shall I sleep in the dust; and  thou shalt seek me in the morning, but I shall not be.” (Job 7:21)   So man lieth down, and riseth not: til the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep.”  (Job 14:12)  “Consider and hear me, O Lord my God; lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death.”  (Psalms 13:3)   And he knelled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge.  And when he had said this, he fell asleep.”  (Acts 7:60)   For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:”  (Acts 13:36)   After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep….Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished….But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first fruits of them that slept…Behold, I shew you a mystery;  We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed.”  (1 Cor. 15: 6, 18, 20, 51)   But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.  (1 Thess. 4:13)
